Mission Sonora, Mexico is a ministry of Peniel Ministries, a Hispanic church in Gresham, Oregon. The mission of Peniel Ministries is to “spread the word of God to our Hispanic community.” Having been a part of a lot of work throughout our community, we decided to spread the blessings God has given us further than our neighbors here in Gresham, or even Oregon. We decided to expand our ministry all the way to Sonora, Mexico, in a continuation of our church’s mission.
Over the course of the years, this undertaking has grown from a small idea, into a great reality. The effect that we have been able to have, and the growing number of ways in which we find ourselves in the position to make a difference, has left us astounded. Every year we face hardships and struggles, but in the end we see God’s hand miraculously open new doors for our ministry. We thank God for giving us this ministry, and allowing us to watch the impact that our work leaves in the lives of people in need.
